One good thing, I guess, about my job is that they've moved the yard a lot closer to where I stay, so no commute is like 8 minutes or so, or less, depending on the red lights I catch or don't.
That simplifies life a lot for me, means I can sleep in later, and less wear and tear on older vehicles I have, my vehicles are old and paid for, but won't get me any dates, that's for sure.
Rest and sleep are so important, and now that my commute to work is a lot shorter, I can sleep in longer...that's really important for over all health.
Nothing worse than being yanked awake by alarm clock with body is still trying to recover through sleep.

Just got home from job.
I don't like my job, I don't like the work environment.
The days are long and dull and mindless.
But only have to do it 3 days a week or would of quit over a year ago, that being said, I do kind of want a job I enjoy.

I no longer care about overtime or any of that crap..
If you need overtime to make a decent check, than you're not being paid enough
The older you get, the more you start enjoying quality time off, over paychecks that still barely keep you over the edge of poverty.
I'd rather work less, be poor, than to work harder, and still be poor.

I'm older now, and have never applied for unemployment benefits, but heck, I'm a vet, and there's a lot of people way younger than me applying and getting it, who've never worked as long and hard and consistent as I have, so why shouldn't I try?
I mean everyone else seems to be getting free money, and we sending billions and billions upon billions to Ukraine, and Israel and Palestine, and any other nation with their hands out, so ye, as a tax payer, why shouldn't I too get a bit of relief?
