My Jungle
Funny, ironic and sad that many of us with aboriginal roots, former slaves, Indians, ect, have been made, for centuries, under colonial rule, to be ashamed of our natural Earth past.
Yet now notice, over last 80 years or so, the off spring of those who originally 'mocked us', and made us feel primitive and 'lesser', now themselves gain status by rediscovering 'nature', Jungles, and forests, which their original exploratory fore bearers wiped out for industrial needs.
Now, if watch nature shows, all you see is 'white' hosts, telling us, of our native land, how to preserve land, nature and the animals on it.
Like some kind of massive switch aroo has taken place, in that in 2017, 'blacks', and other peoples of color, recreated in the image of the white mans nightmares, stripped of tribal past, and made into pavement habitants while 'whites', now, inject selves into being the ones who love nature, and appreciate conservation.
Wow.
And 'blacks', other minorities, presented as pavement monsters who thrive on all that is artificial and fake....again wow.
Well not here, tired of being ashamed of Jungle past, I want my past back, while still alive to appreciate it.
There was no need for conservation, until the greedy industrialized era of man came to be.
Native peoples were happy and content, and only took, ate, used, what was needed to survive, there was no 'hording' of stuff, materials, rocks, gold or diamonds until colonial powers moved in.
And now, in the West, in U.S., whites who are 'rural', live in country, seen as 'keen', those who live off the land seen as 'keen and smart', yet that's all blacks use to do, and Indians, until stripped from land and forced into pavement prisons.
Again, funny how that works, how conquering people hi-jack those they conquered identity, and switch things around.
Not here though, here, I want to reclaim my Jungle past, where sure, didn't have the technological coviences of today, but at least life, while alive, was full, and thick, and had purpose.
Compared to today, with mass depression, opiod abuse, crime, pollution, mass anger, suicides and more, I'd much rather live life of past in Jungle and ignorant of not knowing things that even when know, still fail to give life more meaning.
Love and purpose is what gives life meaning, not technological advances.
Other blacks and minorities, living in the west, can continue to run from 'Jungle' past, but me, myself and I, what years I have left on this Earth, I want to reclaim it, own it, and not be ashamed of it.
For it's this new age of pollution and greed that's destroying the Earth, not my ancestoral Jungle past.
