Single forever?
Single forever?
Now that's a thought and or reality for many actually, single forever.
It's a complex issue, especially in todays society where traditional relationships and how a man and woman depend on one another has so drastically changed over the last 40 years.
I mean if you're a guy/gal, and don't come from a family with strong cultural values, it's easy to get 'lost' when navigating love and romance today.
If you come from that 'plastic' raised on TV, generic culture where life is modeled after TV shows, than life can also be disappointing at times when can't live up to that 'stage' standard.
Me, myself, the more I age, the less I actually desire romance, someone would have to really be 'cute' to me to even want to go down that road.
And with the internet, I mean goodness, you want a cute lady, just go to website where cute ladies are, do your thing, and be done with it, same with women.
The internet has no doubt slowed down the urgency of many, of both sexes, to want to go out searching, like days of old.
Not only that but now that religion plays less of a role in todays generation, people interpit relationships differently, even women do.
You just don't really know what the other person wants or is seeking withoug having religion to use as some kind of standard or guide.
I mean you really just don't know if you're being used or what, or how deep the other person is committed to you.
It's hard to just 'invent' a relationship and expect it to work.
I've seen so many relationships crumble, that seemed so sound just a year earlier, so what is it that they thought they liked so much about one another?
I know some just don't like being controlled or feeling they have to answer to another, especially if have been single for over 5 years.
You know, the whole 'Hey, where were you last night', accountability thing.
Or dealing with jealousy.
And if you watch those crime shows on TV, like 'Case files', ect, you see couples kill one another to get out of a relationship, or to collect on life insurance.
So you get to a point in your life where you become very hesitant to even want to open yourself up to all that pain and or even joy, but either way beginning a relationship is like a rollercoaster ride.
Most, over a certain age, would just rather be married to a lot of money.
But there's still always that lonely factor that just won't go away, the need to physically satisfy or be satisfied, or even to just be hugged now and then, and appreciated by the opposite sex or gender.
Love, or liking another can really fuel you though, make you feel alive again.
Love can make a 70 year old man feel 20 again, not sure if anything else on the planet can do that.
Anyways, just thought I'd drop in real quick, now it's time for bed.
