In the mood to just lay back and be entertained by a good movie, but these days that's easier said than done.
In the olden days, lol, it was just about buying or renting a movie, 1-3, and popping it in VCR or DVD player and settling just on those, with no commercials, no distractions.
But now, if streaming, (I guess can do the same with streaming as well), but there's just more distractions, and 100's of movies to chose from, and many suck, so end up wasting your time, and if watch movies on YT, commercials interupt your viewing, so can't lay down in bed or couch, cause volume comes up during commercials (Only a sleazy snake like person would make volume on commercials increase, but that's tech for ya)
Anyways, I miss when my older computers had DVD player in them that worked, and could view movies even when off line.
I still have many dvd movies, but new computer has no dvd player. Tried portable one, but kept saying still had to pay for 'drivers', bunch of crap if you ask me. Why can't things just be simple like they use to be?

I'm going to join Netflix again, they just have a better array of movies than does Amazon. Amazon airs a lot of the movies we all use to buy from Walmat movie bins at a discount. And if want to see better movies, than you have to pay extra. With netflix, once you join, all movies are free, at least that's how it use to be.
I thought Amazon just bought some big movie studio last year, well I sure can't tell from their limited selection of 'free to you' movies.

Life on TV, at least in the older TV shows from the 90's on back, just feels so much more sanitized and clean. I think, know, those shows, and how they presented life in such a sanitized and clean way, are what provide us comfort as we age. Like just the interior of the Brady Bunch home, brings a lot of comfort to many who watched that show growing up, whether in syndication or while it was actually airing, no matter, the show just did, and still does bring many people comfort. It's like an ideal to strive for, even if never reach it ourselves, but still it gives us a model of a happy home to strive for.

I need to find a movie that talks to me, lately that's getting harder and harder to do, or find.

sometimes I just get more out of turning on the TV and watching older TV series, or older movies on air, than I do newer movies that just don't seem to talk to me.

It's time for bed, I just can't find anything good to watch, the movies on Amazon prime just seem so generic and flat.
I'll just lay down, sleep, and betting my mind and imagination will take me more interesting places than any movie can right now.

Being Flynn - Robert De Niro, 2011
Being Flynn - It's an older forgotten really underrated movie De Niro co-starred in about a decade ago.
It's about a father and son, and their turmulous relationship, and how the father was wild and into many things when younger, but as the father ages falls on bad times, and the son matures and ends up working at a homeless shelter, when to his surprise, one day his father shows up and checks in.
Now the once proud, sometimes abusive father, is now homeless, and his son works at the shelter.
And how this relationship unfolds, and or builds throughout the movie makes it a worth while watch.
I think this movie here was forgotten about way to soon.

Had antenna Tv on for less than 4 minutes, just can't take all the commercials, my time is to valuable for me to have to sit through commercials, and every channel, even when channel surfing, just had more commercials on it, I just don't need that crap right now.

I just feel like watching a good ole silly Western right now, where everything and all the characters were so static and predictable. Sometimes predictable can be comforting...just depends on what mood you're in.

To many smaller studios putting out movies, is why it's so hard to find good ones worth watching now
To many smaller, unknown garage studios putting out movies, is why so hard to find good ones now, especially well written scary ones.
And is why there are no more stars, cause like now days you seem to never see the same actor twice, it's like the studios don't share or swap actors, the smaller ones. So you see them once, and never again.
Movie Stars are made when a actor/performer, when they're seen over and over again in different movies, but if only see them once, they can't build a fan base.
It would be like only seeing Burt Renolds in one movie ever.
I'm really sorta missing my DVD collection right about now, cause I had all the older movies, back when they were good. I guess though, can still order and by movie files?
I guess it's the same, you order it from Amazon, or YT or wherever, and the file is yours forever?
I don't know, I've never bought a movie that way, but pretty much have to since new computers don't come with DVD drives anymore, or very few...and even so you still have to buy the driver apps to make it work.
Oh well, the world is really changing, it never stops changing, I suppose.

Nothing more cool than a cool movie villain.
I'm watching X-Men, First Class, and really do like the sway of the head villain mutant in this one, the one who can obsorb energy.
Forget the actors name, the one in Footloose, which I hated, and they were in goofy horror movie 'crawlers'?, those big worms.
But in X-men, they have more of a older mature solid look, and play the role superbly.
In some of these movies, there's really not much difference between the villains and the hero's, other than the hero's feel some connection to 'man', and the system. But many people find 'the system' to be oppressive, depending on who's charge.
Super hero's in the movies just seem to be blindly loyal to whichever government that happens to be in control.
It's as if hero's in the movies would blindly serve Hitler, if born during that era.

I find myself rooting for the supposed enemy in most of these movies I watch these days.
Just seems the enemy, in movies, are usually more sexy, passionate, ect, than the hero, and or the dull society hero is trying to save.

In the movies, the hero's always seem to support the 'establishment', no matter what, as if the establishment is good.
That means hero's would of defended slavery, and Jim crow, and segregation, had they been around then, and or evil dictators in AFrica, or Hitler, ect...
To me, more times than not, hero's are stupid fks who support whatever regime happens to be in power at the time.
