Zombie Apocalypse - 2011 I know Zombie Apocalypse sounds like such a standard genre name, but actually this zombie movie isn't to bad at all, mainly cause you do actually get to know and even care about the characters which do include a few big star names, surprisingly. It's not a 'B' movie, if anything a B+ movie, maybe even higher as far as Zombie flicks go. I like it, and haven't fast forwarded it yet, I'm about 75% into it and plan on finish watching it, and there's no commercials which is even better. Something about zombie films, I guess in a way I still find even the zombies to be less of a threat to me than 'man', and man's ways, the stress of society, having to find work or else type of stuff. I'd rather live in a zombie world than this current world where always worried about rent, health, safety and other stuff. I'd find a zombie world to be much less stressful actually, no rules, no stupid job to go to, plenty of canned foods to eat. Not sure why in these movies small groups are always seeking larger encampments, me, I'd be content to stay alone or just in a small group. Anyways, it's a decent movie, and free, can't be that.

Lord of Illusions
Every now and then a good one slips past me, and this one has, I mean way way past me, I guess this movie came out way back in 1995?
But it sure doesn't feel or seem that old.
I'm about 40% through it on Amazon video.
It's a cool movie, I'd have to rate it as sci-fi/horror/thriller/adventure
And I like the realistic characters also, I like the fact that the people at that cult, at opening, better reflect real life people than most movies do.
And there's kind of a neo-gayness to some of the characters in this film, I find that refreshing and believable.
Most films just center around this solid Hetero reality, where you have the dame, and the guy who falls for the dame, and that's it.
Not this movie, I can tell this movie would of been really edgy when released back in 1995.
The visuals and effects are pretty good to have been done back then, there are movies today that aren't this good.
This movie, if have never seen, and into neo-gayness type of stuff, or vibe, than this movie might work for you.

Also though, I get annoyed how many movies will start off 'cool', as in man type of cool, action, horror, ect, up and until female character introduced, cause then what occurs is suddenly the movie become bogged down in that womans emotions and moods.
I hate movies that end up revolving around some female characters mood, where suddeny they become the center point of the movie, regardless of genre.
And here comes the relationship, where the main male character gets sucked up by the manipulative females moods and all, when movies pivot like that is when they lose their punch to me, and just become yet another love story forced inside of screen play.
Every movie is basically just a love story between a man and woman, regardless the genre.

Nothing else
Interesting movie, even more interesting though is it's a scary movie, or suspense/horror, or however you want to break it down, that doesn't evolve around white women or people.
The main two characters are ethnic African or Caribbean or ect.
It's very rare for any scary movie to not follow usual template of making the victims or subject white, young, female and sexy.
I applaud this movie for giving other people a chance to shine in that genre of movie for a change.

October is soon approaching, which means Halloween cometh.
It's always my favorite time of the year, even though I don't participate in it, but I still cherish the days when did, and or lived in areas where neighborhoods were stable and safe enough to allow for that type of stuff.
Speaking of Halloween, I feel like watching a scary movie as I fade out for the night. Finding a decent horror movie can really be a challenge these days.
Most horror movies now are either made like low budget porn movies, or just cast wrong, or have terrible story lines.
Let's see what I can find here. It's been a while since I've seen a movie scary enough to make me actually turn the other way and raise my adrenaline levels.

Ouija House
Been watching Ouija house over the last few nights, it's OK. It's one of those movies that could either be much better or worse, just kind of in the middle, but it's not really scary.
What really carries the movie is the cast of characters, there energy kind of keeps the movie moving along, and so I continue to watch just to see what happens to them, who gets picked off.
Strong characters or likable ones, will make you want to continue watching the movie, even if it sucks.
But this one's OK, I guess I just got to get over the fact that movies just are produced the same anymore. The industry is just over saturated now with all these independent studios that just keep churning out movie after movie.
I'm watching this one on prime right now.

Father of flies
This one is interesting, although certain scenes are border line whatever, only in cinema can they get away with such scenes, but that aside, other than certain scenes that tend to exploit ect, that aside, it's kind of a odd creepy bookish type of movie.
I viewed it on Amazon Prime.

This movie got such bad reviews on amazon that it made me want to watch it, and after watching a part of it, it's really not so bad. It came out back in 2012.
People were dissing the zombie make up ect, but to me they were some ugly, grotesque looking zombies.
I don't think most folks realize how hard and long it takes to prepare monster make up like that.

The night eats the world, zombie movie
As far as zombie movies go, this one does have a bit of a different feel to it, but none the less it's good, it's creepy actually.
It's one of those movies you may have to watch twice to appreciate it.

Once again in the mood for a scary movie.
The older you get, the harder it is for a movie to scare you, at least in my case. It can take me weeks, even a month, to finally find a scary movie worth me watching all the way through.
As rich as Amazon is, they sure have some bottom of the bucket Walmart bin type of horror movies on their site.

Rec I
I watched 'Rec' part two the other night, now kind of watching REC, the first movie, which came out in 2007.
The female reporter in this one really annoys me, they're really a 'nag', and don't respect authority. I wish they'd of toned down her obnoxious behavior a bit so could focus more on what's really going on with the demonic virus.

Maybe if that female report would shat her mouth, and not be screaming so loud and frantic, just maybe they could of snuck past the zombies. actually, all the characters in rec had loud mouths, and kept shouting, I mean who does that.
Why not stay the F quiet. I hope I don't have some screaming frantic woman around me should I be stuck in a house full of zombies

It's sad I have to go back to an iconic horror movie like Friday the 13th, from 1980, to get my horror fix on
